2017 UCD GS-441524 Trial
FIP is now >90% curable. Treatment success depends on FIP type, severity, timing, and co-existing infections.
Vets can't prescribe injectable GS441524 for FIP due to the absence of FDA approval—but this change is on the horizon. A recent FDA provision now allows veterinarians in the U.S. to prescribe certain compounded oral-only forms of GS-441524 and Molnupiravir (EIDD 2801). Please know that these compounds are still considered illegal and unapproved but are permitted by a special FDA provision in the United States. Some veterinarians are still unaware of the cure in general and still, to this day, insist on euthanization or telling their clients there is no cure or treatment—please don’t euthanize! Advisory groups like ours help navigate treatment and educate you (and sometimes your vet) about the research while assisting you in saving your cat!
***DO NOT use GS441524 to eliminate Feline Enteric Coronavirus! NOT all FECV mutates into the FIPV! Misuse of antivirals can cause drug resistance and is not a long-term solution!
***Polyprenyl Immunostimulant™ does NOT cure FIP!
